Easy to install and simple to configure, the Global VPN Client utilizes 3DES encryption to maintain the confidentiality of private data. Using SonicWALL's Client Policy Provisioning, the Global VPN Client streamlines VPN deployment and management by automatically downloading the VPN configuration data from the SonicWALL VPN gateway.

Content Filtering Service (CFS) 2.0 is an easy-to-use, subscription-based service delivered through SonicWALL appliances. SonicWALL CFS 2.0 enables businesses to maximize employee productivity and gives schools the ability to protect students from objectionable Web content. SonicWALL CFS 2.0 enforces content filtering policies by combining a virtually unlimited dynamic URL database with SonicWALL's unique and innovative rating and caching architecture. A distributed Internet-based URL database rates questionable or inappropriate web content into 12 categories. The CFS 2.0 policy on the SonicWALL appliance uses this rating information to enforce the desired levels of access for groups and individuals. SonicWALL's unique architecture then caches the results on the appliance for immediate access in the future.

Administrators can apply policies to each category of content to enforce acceptable use policies from different locations inside and outside the network. Network administrators can also apply time of day blocking and user level authentication for increased control over Internet access. CFS 2.0 utilizes URL rating information provided by Cerberian, Inc. and also allows administrators to specify a local list of URLs to block. SonicWALL CFS 2.0 also features integrated management and reporting capabilities. SonicWALL's Global Management System (GMS) and ViewPoint reporting package can utilize data from CFS 2.0 to provide detailed activity and usage reports to network administrators.

The SonicWALL Content Filtering List can be customized to add or remove specific URLs from the blocked list and to block specific keywords. When a user attempts to access a site that is blocked by SonicWALL, a customized message is displayed on the user's screen. SonicWALL Internet security appliances can also be configured to log attempts to access sites on the SonicWALL Content Filter List, on a custom list, and on a keyword list to monitor Internet usage before putting new usage restrictions in place.
